CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD has been in partnership with LBTS since 2004 where our previous CEO John Travers visited the school. John worked closely with the Head Teacher Gary Philips and identified a number of areas where Cushman & Wakefield could assist students at this school to broaden both their horizons and aspirations and help prepare them to take a proactive and successful role in society once they leave the school.

Cushman & Wakefield annually organise for 5-10 students to complete work experience over the summer period. The students are placed in all areas of the business and can experience surveying or be placed in a central services department. In addition to their work experience HR run workshops on business etiquette, team-working and communication which aim to help the students adjust to a working environment. All students leave their placement with fantastic experiences of their 1st work placement.

Cushman & Wakefield offer students at LBTS6 a chance to apply for our “Trainee Surveyor Programme”. This is a unique initiative in the Real Estate industry which sponsors students to go to University to study BSc Real Estate Management at the University of Westminster. Cushman & Wakefield hope to target students that wouldn’t otherwise have the financial or personal background to support themselves while at University. This opportunity gives the willing students the helping hand in finding a career within surveying and having the opportunity to work within the largest privately-owned global real estate firm in the world.  This year Ashad Zalel, a past student at Lilian Baylis School, will be starting the BSc Real Estate degree at the University of Westminster on the Trainee Surveyor programme.
